Serra da Capivara National Park / PI
The Serra da Capivara National Park is a Brazilian conservation unit with full nature protection located in the Piaui municipalities of Canto do Buriti, Coronel José Dias, São João do Piauí and São Raimundo Nonato.
The park was created by decree no. 83,548, issued by the Presidency of the Republic on June 5, 1979, with the purpose of protecting one of the most important examples of the country’s prehistoric heritage.
