Route of Emotions – Essential II / Inverted

Day by Day

• DAY 1 – Fortaleza
  Destination: Fortaleza
  Landing in Fortaleza and transfer to the lodging.
• DAY 2 – Fortaleza / Jericoacoara
  Destination: Jericoacoara
  This day the travelers can choose three ways to get to Jericoacoara: by road in 4×4 or by bus; or through the beaches in 4×4. In the options by road we will drive 370 km to Jericoacoara. In the option for the beaches, we will go to Icaraí and Cumbuco, still in the metropolitan area of Fortaleza. We will also visit the beautiful beach of Lagoinha, a postcard from Ceará and we will visit the bar of Trairi, which we will cross by ferryboat that will take us to the beach of Guajiru. We will continue our adventure by the sea until we reach the sands of Mundaú, crossing by ferryboat to Baleia, Caetano, Apiques and Icaraí da Amontoada.
  We will pass through several small towns such as Itarema and Acaraú and reach Praia do Preá by secondary roads, from where we will follow the coastline to Jeri. During all this coastal stretch the blue sea, the dunes and the coconut trees will guide us through small fishing colonies interspersed with sophisticated beaches and their luxurious constructions, in an exciting landscape that is typical of the coast of Ceara. This day can suffer alterations in the route and in the stop times for photos, bath and lunch due to the tide table.
  The overnight stay in Jericoacoara will give us a chance to enjoy the nightlife of the village, its restaurants, stores and bars.

• DAY 3 – Jericoacoara
  Destination: Jericoacoara
  After breakfast, off-road tour to the Paradise Lagoons. The vibrant color of the place reminds us of the Caribbean paradises: fine and extremely white sand mixes with the green vegetation and coconut trees that frame the turquoise blue crystalline water.
  Next we will visit the famous Blue Hole, perfect for bathing and taking beautiful pictures. We’ll spend the night in Jericoacoara.

• DAY 4 – Jericoacoara / Parnaiba
  Destination: Parnaíba
  After breakfast we’ll take the seaside from Jericoacoara to Parnaíba. We’ll make our first crossing on ferryboat at Guriú beach, with its channel of green waters and the cemetery of mangrove trees. The 4×4 will follow the seaside until the Tatajuba beach. In the Lago Grande we will delight ourselves with the fishnets in the water and with the curious live menu of the Didi’s Restaurant for lunch (not included).
  Always by the sea, we will continue to the white dunes and the carnaúbas of the island of Love, and then cross the mouth of the Coreaú River by ferryboat to Camocim (the points visited on this route are subject to natural conditions and tidal variation, and there may be changes previously informed by our team).
  About 130 km later (approximately) we will be in Parnaíba. In the afternoon we will be transferred to the Tatus Port where we will take a speedboat through the majestic labyrinth of islands of the Parnaíba Delta to the Caju Bay and the Guarás Island. We will stop at Morro do Meio for a quick walk over the gigantic dunes of the Caju Bay and a swim in the waters of the Parnaíba River. The beautiful bird called guará with its bright red plumage can be seen by the hundreds as they perch at sunset (animal sighting depends on several factors together), in a rare and unforgettable spectacle. We will return to the Tatus Port, where we will be transferred for fifteen minutes to the hotel.

• DAY 5 – Parnaíba / Barreirinhas
  Destination: Barreirinhas
  After breakfast and on board of powerful 4×4 vehicles we’ll head to Barreirinhas, the birthplace of Lençóis Maranhenses. Crossing the border between Piauí and Maranhão, where the Jandira Bridge over the Parnaíba River is located. With 640 m of extension, it yields good photos!
  The afternoon is free to enjoy the region. If you wish, it is possible to get to know the city’s nightlife, its bars, restaurants with typical foods and live music on the river shore. Overnight stay in the chosen accommodation category.
• DAY 6 – Barreirinhas
  Destination: Barreirinhas
  Breakfast and free time. After lunch (not included) we’ll take a tour to the impressive Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
  On board of a 4×4 (dinghy) we will cross the Rio Preguiças by ferryboat and take the sand trails for about 40 minutes until the park’s entrance.
  We will visit the best lagoons of the season and their incredibly clear waters, an irresistible invitation for a swim.
  Before returning to the lodging, we’ll experience the sunset at Lençóis Maranhenses, one of the most remarkable experiences that nature can give us.
• DAY 7 – Barreirinhas / São Luís
  Destination: São Luis
  After breakfast, we’ll check out and leave the bags ready before the tour. Then we’ll be taken to the port where we’ll board in fast speed boats through Preguiças River until Cabure Beach.
  On the way, palm trees and mangroves are home to birds, reptiles and mammals. The first stop will be at the village of Vassouras, one of the many points where the dunes of the Pequenos Lençóis meet the Rio Preguiças. Monkeys and parrots make the party of the tourists who stop to refresh themselves with cold drinks served in the shade of the tents.
  We will then take the motor-boat to the Mandacaru lighthouse in the village of the same name, which from the top of its eight stories will reveal in 360 degrees all the exuberance of the place. We will continue to the village of Caburé and its inns and rustic restaurants, where we will have lunch (not included). After lunch we will return to Barreirinhas. At the end of the afternoon we will board the minibus towards São Luís. The trip takes about 4 hours. End of services with the disembarkation in São Luís.
