Day by Day

• DAY 1 – Fortaleza
  Destination: Fortaleza
  Landing in Fortaleza and transfer to accommodation.
• DAY 2 – Fortaleza / Jericoacoara
  Destination: Jericoacoara
  This day travelers can choose two ways to get to Jericoacoara: by road by 4×4 or by the beaches in 4×4. In the road option we will drive 370 km to Jericoacoara. In the beach option, we will continue to the beaches of Icaraí and Cumbuco, still in the metropolitan area of Fortaleza. We will also visit the beautiful Lagoinha beach, postcard of Ceará and visit Barra do Trairi, crossing it by ferry that will take us to Guajiru beach. We will continue our adventure by the sea until we reach the sands of Mundaú, crossing by ferry to Baleia, Caetano, Apiques and Icaraí da Amontoada.
  We will pass through several small towns such as Itarema and Acaraú and reach Praia do Preá by secondary roads, from where we will follow the coast to Jericoacoara. Throughout this coastal stretch, the blue sea, dunes and coconut trees will guide us through small fishing colonies interspersed with sophisticated beaches and their luxurious buildings, in an exciting landscape typical of the coast of Ceará. This day may change the route and stop times for photos, bathing and lunch due to the tide table. Overnight in Jericoacoara will give us the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife of the village, its restaurants, stores and bars. Note: It is possible to change the Fortaleza/Jericoacoara transfer for the Cruz Airport/Jericoacoara transfer. Check prices and availability with one of our consultants.
• DAY 3 – Jericoacoara
  Destination: Jericoacoara
  After breakfast, off-road excursion to the Paradise Lagoons. The vibrant color of the place is reminiscent of Caribbean paradises: the fine white sand blends with the green vegetation and coconut trees framing the crystal clear turquoise blue water.
  Afterwards we will visit the famous Blue Hole, perfect for swimming and taking beautiful pictures. Overnight in Jericoacoara.
• DAY 4 – Jericoacoara / Parnaiba
  Destination: Parnaíba
  After breakfast, we will take the boardwalk from Jericoacoara to Parnaíba. We will make our first ferry crossing at Guriú beach, with its green water channel and mangrove cemetery. The 4×4 will follow the seashore to Tatajuba beach. At Lago Grande we will delight ourselves with the fishing nets in the water and with the curious live menu of Didi’s Restaurant for lunch (not included).
  Always by the sea, we will continue towards the white dunes and the carnaúbas of the Island of Love, crossing the mouth of the Coreaú River by ferry to Camocim (the points visited on this route are subject to natural conditions and the variation of the tide, and there may be changes previously informed by our team).
  About 130 km later (approximately) we will be in Parnaíba. In the afternoon we will transfer to Tatus Port where we will board a speedboat through the majestic labyrinth of islands of the Parnaíba Delta to Caju Bay and Guarás Island. We will stop at Morro do Meio for a quick walk through the giant dunes of Caju Bay and a dip in the waters of the Parnaíba River. The beautiful bird called guará, with its bright red plumage, can be seen by the hundreds when it perches at sunset (animal sightings depend on several factors combined), in a rare and unforgettable spectacle. We will return to the port of Tatus, where we will be transferred for fifteen minutes to the hotel.
• DAY 5 – Parnaíba / Barreirinhas
  Destination: Barreirinhas
  After breakfast and aboard powerful 4×4 vehicles we will head to Barreirinhas, the cradle of Lençóis Maranhenses. Crossing the border between Piauí and Maranhão, where the Jandira Bridge over the Parnaíba River is located. With 640 m long, you get great pictures! After check-in and lunch (not included), we will head to the impressive Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Aboard the 4×4 we will cross the Preguiças River by ferry and follow the sandy trails for approximately 40 minutes until we reach the best lagoons of the season and their incredibly clear waters, an irresistible invitation for a swim.
  Before returning to the lodge, we will experience the sunset in Lençóis Maranhenses, one of the most remarkable experiences that nature has to offer. Overnight in Barreirinhas.
• DAY 6 – Barreirinhas
  Destination: Barreirinhas
  After breakfast we will be taken to the port where we will board speedboats on the Preguiças River to Cabure Beach.
  On the way, palm trees and mangroves shelter birds, reptiles and mammals. The first stop will be in the village of Vassouras, one of the many places where the dunes of Pequenos Lençóis meet the Preguiças River.
  Monkeys and parrots make the party of the tourists who stop to refresh themselves with cold drinks served in the shade of the tents. Next, we will take the boat to the Mandacaru lighthouse, in the village of the same name, which from the top of its eight floors will reveal in 360 degrees all the exuberance of the place.
  We will continue to the village of Cabure and its rustic inns and restaurants, where we will have lunch (not included). After lunch we will return to Barreirinhas. Overnight in Barreirinhas.
• DAY 7 – Barreirinhas / Santo Amaro
  Destination: Santo Amaro
  After breakfast, we will drive on asphalt and sand roads for approximately 3 hours to bucolic Santo Amaro, setting of the movie Casa de Areia. We will be greeted by the clear Rio Alegre, which embraces the town along with coconut trees and dunes.
  After check-in and lunch (not included), we will visit the Lagoa da Gaivota circuit in a private 4×4 (garden van), passing through the region of lakes and fields. We will walk up a dune that will give us a splendid view of the Lençois, with the magnificent Lagoa das Gaivotas at our feet. It is worth taking a walk along the dunes and bathing in the translucent waters while waiting for the fantastic sunset. Overnight in Santo Amaro.
• DAY 8 – Santo Amaro
  Destination: Santo Amaro
  After breakfast and aboard our private 4×4 (jeep), we will get to know one of the most unspoiled and impressive regions of the Lençóis Maranhenses. We will start with the Betânia Circuit through the village of the same name and the shores of its lagoon, where we will take a pleasant canoe ride to the gigantic dunes on the opposite side.
  The exuberant and overwhelming nature and the slow way of life of the inhabitants will transport us to a dreamlike atmosphere. Return to the hotel by 4×4 vehicle, free time and overnight in Santo Amaro.
• DAY 9 – Santo Amaro / São Luís
  Destination: São LuísOn this last day we will leave in a 4×4 vehicle to the support point and from there we will go to São Luís by asphalt in a minibus or van.
