Delta do Parnaíba

The Parnaíba Delta is considered one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. It is located between the states of Maranhão and Piauí, having Parnaíba as its entrance. It is a rare phenomenon of nature that also occurs in the Nile River, in Africa, and in Me Kong, in Vietnam. Its configuration resembles an open hand, where the fingers represent: Barra de Tutoia, Barra do Caju, Barra do Igaraçu, Barra das Canárias, and Barra da Melancieira, which branch out, forming a grandiose ecological sanctuary. The Delta is part of an integrated route called Rota das Emoções, the route is composed of three destinations: Lençóis Maranhenses, Delta do Parnaíba, and Jericoacoara.
